California doesn’t formally recognize the Pirate Party on its voter registration form yet. To support us in the meantime, register as No Party Preference and tell your friends.
How to Register
- Go to registertovote.ca.gov (California Secretary of State).
- Fill out the form. When asked about party preference, choose No Party Preference.
- Submit. You’re done in about 2 minutes.
Why “No Party Preference”?
California recognizes only six political parties for voter registration purposes. Until the Pirate Party gains official ballot status (which requires 73,000+ registered members or 1.1M signatures), choosing No Party Preference (NPP) is the closest stance — it signals you reject the existing party system.
